Homemade Play Dough..for those rainy days

Today I thought I would share a recipe for Homemade play dough.  This is great for those days that aren't nice enough to go out and play.

Homemade play dough

  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • food dye (any colors you wish, the neon collection is nice)
  • newspaper or cheap tablecloth to cover the surface you're working on

In a medium bowl mix the salt and flour together.  Add a few drops of the food coloring (in the color of your choice) to the water, until your desired color is reached.  Remember to start with a little food dye at a time, you can always add more but you can't remove the dye once it's been added. Knead the mixture together and let you child have fun.

Please note that if you use too much food dye that it may temporarily stain your child's hands but will come off with a few hand washings.
